So Andrew, if you like Hawkwind, you should REALLY check out the local act Spaceseed. They'll be at Eyedrum Aug. 4th. They are total Hawkwind proteges, having recorded & toured with Hawks Nik Turner and Harvey Bainbridge several times. They include a couple of Hawk covers in their own set as well. They're very much what Hawkwind must've been like in their club days.

NEARFest 2007 Review

SATURDAY

Hawkwind – England – I saw HW back in the early ‘90’s. They were a dis-conjointed mess back then. This set however was much more polished. The computerized back-projections were out-of-this- world. Musically, their stuff was very 3-chord, blues-based riffology. For my money, it could have been even spacier than it was but I enjoyed their set very much.
