[atlantaprog] Re: WABE

it makes no sense to emasculate the only outlet for classical music
in town because they dont' cater to the more esoteric tastes. i fail
to see how further limiting their playlist is going to increase their
diversity.

lois reitzes has the unenviable task of playing classical music that will
inspire people to pay out of their pockets for the priveldge of listening.
as a long time supporter of public radio, i'm very supportive of the
station, even though a large percentage of the "classical" that they
play i already have in my collection.

as far as activists, well, they're going to have to get the support for it,
because, as "member supported radio" they are going to have to have
people actually pledge to listen to their opinions. frankly, i wish all
talk radio was based on "member support" contributions. they'd
undoubtedly all go off the air after one year.
