[atlantaprog] Re: To all Rogue Fest Bands

Based on my experience as part of last year's jam, I would highly recommend against any of those tunes - due to the fact with so many people onstage trying to fit in, and no chance to rehearse, it will just sound like mud! Actually, Starship Trooper would be a good choice if ya'll just play the first half yourselves and have everyone else come up and join in on the 3-chord Wurm section. Someone could point to each person who would then take a brief solo. A good Genesis tune would be I Know What I like. People could sing along with the chorus and instrumentalists could join in an extended ending much like the version on Seconds Out.

So from what I understand, the end jam at the Rogue Fest is organized by
the closing band, which I happen to be leading this year. I'm sort of
leaning towards having it be "Watcher of the Skies" by Genesis, and I was
just wondering if that tune would be alright with everybody, or if I should
choose somthing else (my other top picks would be The Musical Box or The
Knife by Genesis, or Starship Trooper or And You And I by Yes.) Any Input
would be great, otherwise I'll be writing charts for "Watcher" to send out
in the next week or so.
