[atlantaprog] Re: Time to come to the aid of our local prog community!

Allen,
Put me down for accommodations (I DO need to clear it with the wife but you
know Carol is cool...) In fact, since I have a tenant vacating an apartment at
the first of June, I may just have an entire apt available for that
time-frame...Harold

OK, here's the deal. There are four acts traveling great distances and
incurring big expenses to play at Roguefest - for no guarantee. They
will each get a cut of the door... so in order to help these groups
keep their costs manageable, I have offered to find local housing for
them. That's where YOU come in... most of you have guest rooms,
couches, futons, etc. I'm asking you to open up your homes to these
visiting musicians - ie to allow them to sleep at your place on
Saturday night, June 18th. If you are able and willing to do this, let
me know ASAP. I will need to know how many you can accommodate, and
anything someone might need to know about your place, whether you
smoke, whether you have pets (in case someone has an allergy), etc.
It's also possible that some people, due to traveling arrangements may
arrive on Friday. I will need to know if your place would be available
Friday as well.

We also need volunteers to staff the gate (don't worry - at Jakes, you
can still watch the show from the door - albeit from the side) and
drivers to help the visiting musicians get from their housing to the
club and vice versa.

We will need people to help distribute promo cards to various locations
(including the Porcupine Tree show on the 16th)

So... now is the time for all good people to come to the aid of their
local prog community!

In the spirit of Cinco de Mayo - Muchos Gracias!
