Hi folks!-
Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving and got a good
head start on your Christmas buying too! (Music DVDs
make cool presents! Hint, hint)
Just wanted to drop a line here about the ARIA
showcase at the Brandyhouse last Tuesday... It was
good to see a decent little crowd show up.
Considering it was a holiday week night and the fact
that we have gotten out of the habit of these shows
the past few months, the turnout was not too shabby.
It was good to see you all!
As for the showcase, very cool stuff. Nice to see two
bands debut in the ARIA showcase. TouchXTone did a
very meditative opening set with layers of classic
synths and interesting sound effects, loops and such.
Very nice stuff and different than anything yet on the
ARIA list. Bell Jar followed and showed what a tight
unit they are! They have a flair for the dramatic in
both delivery and lighting and that elevated this set
from being just another band at a bar. If you have
never heard them before I suggest you check them out!
I spoke with Allen and we came to the conclusion that
it would probably be best to hold off on an OFFICIAL
ARIA gig in December, being the busiest time of the
year for a lot of us and a tough time to get schedules
in line.
That said, NoiseDotCom is playing on December 22nd at
The Brandyhouse and we hope you all will let that gig
suffice for December and take the time to come to the
show. We have a lot of fun stuff planned and it is
also a Christmas bash of sorts. Show starts around 9,
hope to see you there!
All the best,
Sean Tonar
