[atlantaprog] The Prog Palace


Hey guys,

This past week I've added a new stream to the station. This one is
coming off of Windows Media Server and will allow for many more
connections in the near future. You can check out the new stream from
the station's website by clicking on Tune In and after being taken to
the next page under The Prog Palace look for media Player stream.
Currently the stream is not running at the quality it will be changed to
once the station is moved to that stream only. For those interested
currently the stream is running at 20 kbps and once moved to this and
away from the current streaming using Shoutcast it will increase to 96
kbps. 

Currently the sound is totally awesome and will only get better as I
make the move. I am currently working on a way to have Windows Media
Player display the names of the bands and song information. I'd like to
have the ability to not only have the band name, song title and album
listing, but a way to link to the band's website as well from windows
media player. 

If anyone knows how to do even a part of what I'm looking to do please
email me. I'm working on trying to get this part going, but so far I
haven't found a way to do that in media player. I know series 9
currently in beta and seemed to crash my system a few times than I had
liked maybe the answer, but I had to revert back to the current version
when the computer started to reboot on its own. 

Also starting this Sunday at 10PM I will begin a new show featuring
local bands. I hope to have it run from 10PM-12PM, but may move it to
find a good time on Sundays. Don't want to make it too early and can't
make it too late either and so far the Friday night show seems to be
going well at that time.
