[atlantaprog] The Prog Palace

Hello all,

First off I want to apologize for not being at any of the meetings in the
past months. I felt that due to problems I was having I didn't have much to
say and wasn't going to be much help. Not to say that I haven't been busy
and finally I have some news that I can pass along.

First off I want to tell you that Inetprogramming has converted to a
subscription only service that I felt was not where people would go to
listen to music.

I felt that the price that is being requested is a bit high and it's not the
approach I wanted to go. This was the reason I decided to do my own thing.
The only
problem was how and if I did how could I afford to do this without making
any money. Then the light went on and I did some research and found that I
could do what I wanted and play whatever I wanted at an affordable price
using LIVE365.com. After talking to a representative at LIVE365.com I was
able to determine what I could do. I was happy knowing that by using
LIVE365.com I could have more listeners and by playing the well known music
I can also incorporate the local acts to gain exposure. This will also be
true for Sundays will still be set for Atlanta regional local bands.

Also with the way LIVE365 works I can upload a playlist and have that stored
on their server when needed leaving the service always running. Now mind you
I have always planned to stream from the computer I have to the service. So
with the way I will be setting it up I will have a playlist uploaded to the
server that will start to play when I stop streaming directly. Then I can
take the computer
that's setup and go out and do live performances remotely. I've spoken to
LIVE365
and as long as I have permission from the copyright holder and the record
label if required I can play the concert LIVE. It would be rather easy now I
have
the stream going from my computer out to LIVE365 when I need to take the
computer to a show I simply switch it to the server that will have a
playlist of its own and load up the computer. Once setup I can connect to
the server and
switch back to live and the show begins. Once completed switch back to the
server
until I can setup the computer and stream once again.

I am currently in the process of moving the files back to MP3s since I was
using Windows Media Files. I am also working on re-designing the website
and some updates are already present.  The stream will begin again
tonight at 10PM

I also wanted to let everyone know that I have been to school for recording
music and have done a some live sound back in Cincinnati.  I would like to
