I think his main claim was that EVH was the influential one who brought a
style to the masses, including two-hand tapping but more than that.
Unfortunately Hackett is in the camp with Otto and Meucci, and EVH is more
like Ford and Bell.
The EVH/Lifeson connection is a stretch, but there's no doubt EVH was hugely
influential in rock and metal generally. Lifeson wouldn't be the one I'd use
to make that case though.
