So has this supposedly knowledgeable guy who claims there was no
fingertapping in prog prior to Eddie Van Halen never heard "Return of the Giant
Hogweed"?
Am I the only one who hears no particular EVH influence in Alex Lifeson's
guitar work, post Permanent Waves or otherwise? It seems to me that the major
stylistic shift in Lifeson's 80s guitar work was marked by an Andy Summers
fixation, not an EVH fixation.
