[atlantaprog] Speechless ranked #46 of the top 100 prog CDs of 2007, news and Jan 11th Eyedrum gig

Hi folks-

I hope you are all have a great holiday season!  Just
wanted to take a few minutes to let you know what we
have been up to as of late and share some news...

*) If you have been reading our blog you already know
about the poll that went on last month for the Top 100
Prog CDs of 2007 over at http://www.gagliarchives.com
which is the longest running progressive music radio
show on the net. 

Out of over 1000 cds to vote for in the poll we wound
up at a very respectable 46 in the Top 100!  And over
7000 votes total were cast in the poll.  In the poll
we were in great company as well, alongside our peers
and many legends too.  This is a pretty amazing thing
for an unsigned band like us and we are really proud. 
Thank you all for voting in the poll and believing in
the music of Speechless!  You are all are awesome!

*) We were also featured in the 2008 Modern Drummers
Buyer's Guide.  We had our cover art put on a bass
drum head at a place called http://www.drumart.com and
there is a section for accessories in the buyer's
guide that features them.  They offered up six of
their best heads for the full color 1/4 page write up
and ours was placed above them all, looking really
sharp!  Pick up a copy and have a look!

*) We are busy writing songs for our sophomore CD now
and things are coming along smoothly.  We are inspired
and the music is flowing... The makings of a CD are
starting to take shape though we are just a month into
the writing and crude demos stage so far, we have a
lot of writing ahead of us.  

**) Please join us next month for our first gig since
Oct!  Thanks to Allen we have a great gig with Guido's
Hand at the Eyedrum on Jan 11th.  Please make it on
your calendars!  We will debut some of the new music
we are working on for CD #2 there, so come be the
first to hear it!
