[atlantaprog] Re: Speechless Fri gig recap & reminder of Decatur gig THIS SAT, June 24th!

FYI - to all interested. Friday night will be a big one for me, as I will be at the NEARfest pre-show, in Pennsylvania, enjoying the Hatfield and the North / Tony Levin Band.

I would also add, as an elder-prog and a Habitat for Humanity director, that you should all purchase "After the Storm" - a very good double CD set from Nearfest records - from me at $20.00 postpaid. All proceeds go to Habitat's Katrina-relief effort : "Operation Home Delivery". More info available at: www.nearfestrecords.com , but order from me. There are some GREAT tracks on this release! If you wish, PayPal me at this e-mail address. I ship first class the same day ( except this Thursday - Saturday )!

Checks can be mailed to : TCCHFH , PO Box 327, LaGrange, GA 30241

peace, Steven W. Brown , Executive Director , Troup / Chambers County Habitat for Humanity

Hi folks-

*****Just thought I would drop a line here to remind
you all that Speechless will be playing this coming
Saturday night in Decatur at Club 29, which you all
may remember as the old Jake's Toadhouse- the place
Rougefest was held last year. See our page for more
details... We are special guests at Mike Levine's cd
release party and our set should begin around 9:30ish.
Come on northside!!!! This is your chance to see
Atlanta's newest rock/prog/fusion band live!*****

Also, last Friday's gig in Jonesboro went great! You
all missed a good one! We were on the bill with three
other bands, two of which were prog and very good. I
asked them if they knew about ARIA and they said
"What's that?", so I mentioned to them what it's
about. Nice to see more prog bands come out of the
woodwork around town! Apparently they aren't all on
here yet! Check out the bands at MySpace.

Totality sounded like they were all pushing 40 (in a
classic kinda way- taseful with a great reverence for
70s prog sounds and approaches) when I visited their
page. Amazingly they are all high school age! And I
think are probably the tightest band that age I have
encountered yet around ATL, and you all know there are
a few good ones! Check out that first tune there and
tell me that dosen't sound like classic Camel, or
something from that school of sound...... Their
originals were good and they even covered "Hells
Kitchen" from DT. Gravel Undertow I hear were great
as well. They played after my bedtime but our drummer
Derik stayed for the set and gave them great props!
So check these young bands out folks! The need your
support!

Hope to see a you at Club 29 this Sat! We promise to
show you a good time!

-Speechless
