[atlantaprog] Re: Speak up!

I'll post what I posted on PE, for day 1......

Farpoint was AWESOME...they had a 'fill in' for their lead singer Dana, her
name was Mary and she did a great job, but I'm used to Dana so I missed her.
They did a few older tunes and some newer tunes, they sounded the best they
have...everyone was tight and right on! Since they only had ONE real full
practice with Mary and their drummer Rick (he was on TDY *is that right? for
the Reserves)...they were great!!!

DP3 were pretty cool....horn, violin...very jazzy...I enjoyed them and it
looked like they were having fun, that always counts to me!

Brass Knuckle Surfer were a bit too spacey for me, but sounded cool...just not
my kind of thing.

Z-Axis sounded tighter than I've ever heard them....they are as always their
ambient selves...a bit too ambient for this progger...but everyone there seemed
to enjoy them. Their vocals and 'chanting' or whatever it's called is just not
my thing. The keys always sound great and the drummer is really great!

Land of Chocolate WOW! I've been waiting years to see these guys! Jonn Buzby on
keys and lead vocals is friggin AWESOME!!!! I enjoyed it totally, their drummer
is great and the whole band seems really together! I loved this set! It was
really great to finally get to see them!!!! (and to get my once a year hug
from Jonn!) lol

IZZ....oh what can I say...they always steal the show for me!!! They were so
tight and awesome last night....I love these guys ALL so much! Finally got to
meet Greg, don't know how I've missed him before, but always seemed to! Got to
see pics of Tom and Anmarie's little girl...she's GORGEOUS! Got to catch up
with Brian and Brems, which is always fun (especially with Brems since he still
doesn't have a pc!!!!!) LOL I enjoyed this set so much! These guys are just
great! Anmarie and Laura (that's right, right?) look and sound just beautiful
on the stage and John and Tom's usual brotherly love (John's antics) as always
were great fun! I absolutely LOVE watching Tom on keys!!! He's so fun to
watch! Brems was AWESOME!!!!! He RAWKED the house out and Greg and Brian killed
on drums!!!!! It was a really great night!!!!

I missed The Red Masque, I had five kids with me altogether and they all wanted
to go home and get to sleep...they weren't having as much fun as I thought they
would!!! They saw Farpoint and IZZ only because they went to the movies and out
to eat! I'm really bummed that they didn't enjoy it! It sucks for me!

PEACE
Beth
