Soundscape #140 Looking Backwards

Welcome one and all to the first edition of Soundscape circa 2009. After a 3
week hiatus we return with an amazing set of music. First we take an opening
journey into the Soundscape with some gems that have been jangling in my
head), then we dip into 3 amazing albums of 1971: ELP's Pictures at an
Exhibition, Led Zeppelin IV, and Genesis- Nursery Cryme. Then we take a
short look at some of the amazing music that emerged across the last year.
There was so much to choose from that there was no way to do such an
endeavour any justice, but take my word for it, there were some fantatsic
new tunes that emerged from last years progressive spelunking.

Next week we will be off the air again, but fear not Soundscape will return
the weekend after with a look at progressive archaeology (our first proper
theme of 2009). If you would like to play along in helping us determine the
set for this theme then drop us a line. The theme is archaeology and the
songs can be about fossils, digging, ruins, if it fits the archaeology
theme, it is fair game.
