  Not too many truly active bands out there right now, as far as I know.
   
  You might want to consider one of the ARIA "affiliate" bands, like Farpoint 
and the like.  They should compliment the harder stuff quite well, actually!
   
  I myself want to dust off the Rickenbacker basses and play again, but then we 
had another baby!  So I simply just don't have the time right now.  Hopefully 
in the not-so-distant future, I will be ready to venture forth into playing 
some original music, bith with a (prog) band and solo.  I will of course keep 
you all posted on that!
   
  I am also marking my calendar for Jan. 11th...I hope I can make that show!
