In honor of my Father in Law's presence here during the Holidays I chose to
play a show devoted to the classical side of prog. Jerry has been a
listener for quite some time and has developed a taste for some of what we
play here at the DLBN. This evening focused on Progresives rock use of
strings, and Classical interpretations of Progressive Rock. This is by no
means a complete catalog, but it does give a nice feel for the ways in which
rock uses classical instruments and classical sequences in newfound and
progressive ways. We end the show with a Jam session from The Grateful Dead
on 5/15/70 the late show, which is just a snippet of a 7 disc set
re-energized by the love of some true fans who brought this show back from
the abyss. If you enjoy this piece let me know and I will get more of it up
here. Also included is a rare Jon Anderson cut from Charlie Bisharat's 1993
album Along the Amazon. I hope you all Enjoy and Happy New Year to you all.
