The suggestion from Gabriel about Fantomas' Director's Cut album is a
good one. Their "Rosemary's Baby" version is really creepy, and the
"Cape Fear" rocks pretty hard.
The most obvious movie prog choice for me is "The Cinema Show" by Genesis.
And speaking of Peter Gabriel, selections from his soundtracks ("Birdy",
"Passion", "Long Walk Home") are likely choices, and very strong musically.
As to the suggestion of doing Morricone, I would specifically point out
the John Zorn versions.
Some proggy food songs:
Beatles, "Savoy Truffle" (and for that matter there's a lot of food in
Lucy in the Sky...)
King Crimson, "Cat Food"
Personally, as a weirdo, I would play "Fish Heads" by Barnes and Barnes :)
Note that in the Genesis vein there's Supper's Ready, but I'm not sure
it's really about food as such and it's 23 minutes long.
Kate Bush, "Eat the music" off The Red Shoes
Tom Waits, "Eggs and Sausage" & "Chocolate Jesus"
Primus, "Pork Soda"
