Well one thing this here theme did was provide an interesting mix of music.
The idea behind Owls Nest was to play songs that have haunted you or songs
that you had trouble discovering the answers about. I think you all have
had experiences like this. This makes the music even more powerful when you
find it. It becomes treasure where it might have been less important,
simply due to the chase. I had requests from quite a few folks, for which I
am very grateful. However, I did not find most of them. After all, you
guys were the ones on the search lol. At any rate I did play a few of the
songs offered, so please keep sending me your ideas. It is the audience
that makes this so much fun, and incorporating what you would like to hear
is always my goal.
New music this week came from Morse/Portnoy/George with their Cover to Cover
sessions, Jim Weider (formerly from the Band) teaming up with Tony Levin and
some other cool fellows, A Norlander set with Rocket Scientists (my favorite
new album) and Erik Norlander live from St Petersburg, My Morning Jacket
live from the new album Okonokos, Weird Al, and new to us Blue October
(inspired by all of the play on Point of No Return).
Next week the theme will be: A Change in the Weather. Have you got a
favorite song about the Weather? Let me know. You can choose songs about
Rain, Snow, Wind...this is an easy theme to contribute to so I expect to
hear from all of you lol.
