Mike Dickson, a frequent poster to REC.MUSIC.PROGRESSIVE and
Mellotron expert, linked to this half-hour BBC streaming-audio
production in a post on that newsgroup:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/go/radio4/int/-/radio/aod/radio4_aod.shtml?radio4/sampledelica
Includes interviews with Tony Banks, Paul McCartney (who actually
plays *it* on The Actual Instrument from The Actual Record), Andy
Partridge of XTC, Andy McCloskey of Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark
[1], Ian McDonald, Paul Weller, Justin Hayward, and a couple of
employees of Streetly Electronics, the makers of the Mellotron. The
feed is pretty good and is quite manageable on a dial-up connection.
Enjoy!
[1] Betcha didn't know that that's a Mellotron on "If You Leave", didja?
