Oh, they did By-Tor. Magnifluently.
Well, at least as far as the end of The Battle, which is where they
tend to, well, go into "Xanadu". And they cut out the second, um,
*iteration* of the basic "Xanadu" form, too, jumping straight to the
coda from the first "milk of Paradise". (At least you get all the
musical material to speak of, though in the service of going into the
*next* tune, they cut out the little figure that sounds suspiciously
like Steve Howe's melody near the opening of "The Revealing Science
of God". Yeah, just *tell* me that in 1977 they weren't trying to
reach out to disaffected Yes fans.) I've still never heard the
entire song live, and I'm pretty much despairing of their ever doing
it in full again. Serves me right for not seeing them on the *Moving
Pictures* tour, I guess.
