"Xanadu" live? Wow! I guess they'll never do "By-tor and the Snowdog" live again? -----Original Message----- From: UncleEggsy@xxxxxxx [mailto:UncleEggsy@xxxxxxx] Sent: Fri 8/6/2004 9:51 PM To: atlantaprog@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Cc: Subject: [atlantaprog] Re: Rush concert reviews? I've gotta tell ya. It was a killer show. Actually, Rush are supporting a new release, an EP of mostly sixties covers called Feedback which features tracks like The Yardbird's "Shapes Of Things", The Who's "The Seeker" and "Buffalo Springfield's "For What It's Worth". Anyway, it's rare to see a group of such great players who also seem to have so much fun together onstage. The camraderie in that group is a real treat to watch. Other bands pay lip service to "brotherhood" in their interviews whilst backstabbing each other and riding in separate limos behind the scenes, but watching Rush in action you get the feeling that they really are like brothers, on and off the stage. I also truly appreciate the grace and good humor they project. It totally flies in the face of the conventional music scribe wisdom of Rush as this uber-serious geek band that people listen to between rounds of Advanced Dungeons and Dragons. The set was different enough from the last tour and on the Rush In Rio DVD to make it worthwhile. The covers from the EP positively blossomed in live performance and I also finally got to hear "Between The Wheels" and "Xanadu" live. I had a great time. Chris H.
