[atlantaprog] Re: Raymond Scott -The Original Musical Mad Scientist

Hormuz Minina turned me on to Raymond Scott's work as an experimental
electronic composer when he used Scott's music for an installation last
year. I didn't then that Scott was also the composer of some of the
best loved (by me) cartoon music!

Thanks for this post, Stan

Chances are you have heard this man's music and not even known
who it was. Raymond Scott wrote a ton of music that wound up in MANY
cartoons we grew up with. And not only that, but he wrote some real
cutting edge jingles (50's/60's) and even created/invented a number of
electronic devices for producing music and various sounds on (often
working in collaboration with one Bob Moog).

I just downloaded some stuff from emusic.com
<http://emusic.com/> recently from the "Microphone Music" and
"Manhattan Research" compilations. Let's just say this dude was DECADES
ahead of his time. Check out his website and be amazed
