If enough big artists do this, it accomplishes three things: 1) Breaks the 
backs of the major labels who could not survive without big artists, and 2) 
teaches consumers a new norm for obtaining music, and 3) actualizes the concept 
that consumers buy music from artists not labels.

This all will be both good and bad for indie or small artists, probably in 
equal measure and unknown ways.
