[atlantaprog] R.I.P. Ian Wallace

And this coming on the heels of the loss of Boz Burrell just last September. Here's a link to Robert Fripp's remembrance:

Just scroll down to the bottom.

Ian had been suffering from cancer of the esophagus for months; he had an unusually extensive diary on the DGM Web site, but his SO had been doing most of the posts for two or three months, keeping everyone abreast on his condition. Condolences are pouring in at DGM.

I don't have *Islands* (the only KC studio album on which he and Boz played) or his work with the Crimson Jazz Trio (which is exactly what it looks like), but I was fortunate enough to hear him play with the 21st Century Schizoid Band a few years ago. To say I was pleasantly surprised is kind of an understatement--I had no idea he was that good. I'll just have to be glad for what I have. Tip of the hat to ya, Ian!
