Hi Mark,
Would it be more cost effective to have 1 representative carry Atlanta band
merchandise to a vendor table at an event like this.
That would be a really good idea. Because of touring with my other band, I
can't ever go to events like this any more, but I had a table at Prog Day
for Cobweb Strange twice and sold a good number of CDs both times. I would
definitely be willing to participate if something like this was going to
happen.
It may be an accounting nightmare.
Actually, I don't think it would be bad if all of the bands would be willing
to put the same price on their merchandise (for example if all CDs were
$10). Each band could give the same number of CDs (maybe 20 of each title).
Then at the end of the festival, you could just see how many were left and
do the math. If enough bands were involved, they could chip in to pay for
the table and let the seller set up for free...or split the cost of the
table with the seller and pay a $1 commission on each sale (or something
like that). I think it's a great idea.
I hope you don't mind me participating in local topics here, but we really
don't have anything like this in Dallas... so this is the closest group I
have...
Can I just be a 'long distance' ARIA member? ;-)
We'd love to have participation from ANYONE with an interest in the topic,
regardless of location! Welcome to the group! ...we'll just have to show
you the secret handshake later I guess ;-)
