Sadly, not for us. No way I could get enough time off right now. I am also
recovering from a nasty case of cellulitis (bad under-skin infection) brought
on originally from a Brown Recluse spider bite (yes, a long story). Anyway,
with the huge spike in gas prices the past couple of days, it may have kept us
from going anyway. There was a huge run on the gas stations in Rome and
Cartersville yesterday, and several are now at least temporarily out of gas to
sell.
On a lighter note, at least ProgDay should have EXCELLENT weather this year,
and therfore will go on like it should be, outdoors at Storybrook Farm!
For those of you who have never seen Glenn Phllips perform, you will be in for
a real treat! He is not "prog" in a traditional sense. He is, however, an
amazing guitarist...think like a Steve Vai or Joe Satriani without the
histrionics or posturing. He is an unassuming man in his fifties who just
loves to rock out! His guitar effects chain is ALL-ANALOG...he hates digital
effects. The man also has an excellent dry wit...hopefully he will say a few
words between songs (all instrumentals, you know) at ProgDay. His live show is
full of energy, and the "dancing crowd" at ProgDay should have no problems
boogeying along! My wife and I have seen Gleen perform here in Rome several
times...he plays here at least twice a year at Schoeder's downtown.
To my great friend Jeff and to any other Atlanta-area proggers going to
ProgDay...have a safe and pleasant weekend, and please be sure to post your
observations here ASAP!
Regards,
Bill

Is anyone else going up to North Carolina for ProgDay this weekend?
