I can't make any of the shows, due to work conflicts and so forth. At this
point, we know for sure that
Robert Fripp will be doing soundscapes to open the California shows. There are
now rumors going
about (from MTV) that Adrian Belew will open "on the East Coast", which may or
may not include any
of the Midwest (I mean, Adrian spends enough time in Ohio that he SHOULD play
Cleveland...).
Adrian is on the PT album, so it's plausible. It's not clear whether he would
be with his new Trio
(recruited to tour with the Side One material, not Danny and Les). That may
make a difference as to
what shows to fly to.

Now, if you were really lucky, going by other guests on the Deadwing album,
Opeth would open in
the Midwest. It seems unlikely though. You'll get a chance to here Opeth live
in Atlanta this summer
as part of the Sounds of the Underground (though you'll have to go to Hi Fi
Buys Amphitheater and
wade through a lot of emocore-loving poser teenagers).
