since I migrated to OSX last summer, I haven't had a good way
to get to the Usenet groups. Yeah, I could go through Google, but
that's a pain. I need a good FREE news-reader, but none that I've tried
seem to work right. Any hints from you other Mac guys out there?
MT Newswatcher is free and adequate. Then there's Mozilla 1.5 for Mac OS X, which includes a Usenet reader, is free and an amazing achievement all around.
What's taking the world by storm right now is RSS feeds, and for that, on the Mac, there's Ranchero NetNewsWire Lite and Radio Userland. The industry pundits maintain that RSS is going to be a bigger deal and used more heavily by people than either Usenet or the World Wide Web. I'm skeptical but we'll see.
