Greetings, all. Just got back from two of the three-days of NEARfest. A
fabulous world-class event !
Friday night kicked off with the second-ever USA performance of Van der Graaf
Generator. The first performance was 33 years ago at The Beacon in NYC. They
are scary-good. "Trisector" must be considered as important a work as any of
their other releases. Steve Hillage Band closed the festival the first night.
Saturday highlights were DFA & Gong. Both were phenomenal ! DFA - "4th" is a
must. Gong will release "2032" later this year. The new tracks were quite
strong and held their own in a performance dominated by songs from "Camembert
Electrique" & "You". Hillage & Howlett are back on-board.
Sunday, I had to travel back, but reports have come in already that PFM closed
the three-day event in a grand style.
peace, Steven
