1977 is the symbolic punk rock "Year Zero" as referenced in the book I
mentioned I've been reading, England's Dreaming by Jon Savage. It's also a
pretty
darned good song by The Clash.
Yeah...yeah...I know it's a prog list, but, if you think about it, prog and
punk really aren't that far apart ideologically. They just take very different
approaches to the musical realization of their ideals.
All I'm trying to say is that I'm sick of the status quo as far as popular
music and the music industry are concerned. I want to see the system turned on
it's head, run through a meat grinder, knocked around and then run back
through the meat grinder just for the heck of it.
