Of course, whether or not you would find this fun is directly
proportional to how much you like 80s metal. I could stand some
early 70s metal - Sabbath, Purple, Zep, etc. - but that 80s junk
leaves me cold! Do they REALLY play stuff by The Darkness??? Ugh...
You should hear their new album, Allen; they're really much more of a
'70s-style hard-rock band, anyway, though you can hear in their music
the connections between the two. The press just thinks of them as a
hair band because they don't really know the difference.
At least I've sung "Heat Of The Moment" there (three times,
actually--I'm trying to broaden my repertoire, but there's not much
there that I can sing well and that I like). Wheat has sung "The
Spirit Of Radio" and "Cult Of Personality" (which sorta makes it
under the "prog" wire if you squint at it due to the dropped count in
the middle of the riff and the 5/8 bars at the end). ;-)
