"Great rock show supreme elite" to both Noise.com and Man On Fire for the
Brandyhouse Experience of last night. Very nice to hear more of the
representative bands, and a very impressive pair at that.
Noise.com did not seem to suffer much at all from the alleged lack of keys.
Very nice blend of influences; some heavy, some jammy. Liked the contrasts
and also how it fit together. Good on you.
Man On Fire was a big surprise; having never seen them I was not sure
whether to expect a full band or just Jeff and Eric. Very nice set,
gentlemen, very nice indeed. <<
Thank you for your positive comments, Andrew; it was a pleasure to meet you.
On behalf of my fellow dot-commies, I would also like to thank all those who
came out to hear us play. Believe it or don't, it was our first show. We had
ourselves a hoot. We played well, the equipment functioned well, we had
great folks in attendance. What's not to like?
My apologies for taking a few days to make this post; Tuesday is actually
part of my weekend (weird-ass work schedule).
I'd acquired the Undefined Design CD the previous week, and tend to respect
a band that can, in a live setting, recreate the textures of the recorded
music. IMO, Man On Fire delivers those goods. They put on an xcellent show.
Steve, Jeff, thanks again for the invitation.

There are some very nice moments on 'Love Beach', especially Canario :-) and
Memoirs of an Officer and a Gentleman. I think their real stinker was In
The Hot Seat. <<
From "Love Beach", I actually like "Memoirs of an Officer and
Gentleman"--especially the acoustic guitar and piano interplay. I think "In
the Hot Seat" is good for potato-cannon practice. (Note to proggers: Do NOT
cover Dylan. Do NOT cover Dylan. Do NOT cover Dylan.)

... Kerry Livgren's AD is making me curious (is it available in any form?).

Got to see AD back in '85, and got to meet Livgren last month in Topeka. He
came to see a rotating collection of musicians jam on Kansas songs, and his
nephew was one of the singers.

Not sure if anybody is into this band, or ever heard of them: Out of Denver
Colorado, there's a Christian Progressive Rock band named America Gomorrah.
www.americagomorrah.com <<
I glommed a few songs off their website maybe three years back. I enjoy it
on occasion.
