Lear Jet in the shop huh? Did you try and ask Allen to borrow the ARIA
Jet? You hadn't heard? ARIA had just purchased its own Lear Jet for the
national tour. The jet is the top of the line aircraft. Allen came about
this aircraft by mere accident when he bought a box of Cracker Jacks and
the prize was a paper airplane, after assembling it he found that it
contained a coupon for the real thing. Unfortunately the engines were
not included. After weeks of searching Allen found a couple of engines
that would fit the aircraft and had them installed. The bad news is the
two engines were out of two different 1968 Voltswagon Beetles. It flew
its first test flight about 2 weeks ago and made it to an altitude of 3
feet. Unfortunately since the altitude was not as high as expected the
wingspan of the aircraft has changed dramatically. Top speed of the
aircraft is said to be 88 MPH. A flux capacitor was installed which has
done nothing to actually make it go faster, but it has given passengers
a look at their past before they are sent Back to the Future. All-in-all
the aircraft is great for road trips, but it is not recommended for
flying. Also since this aircraft is run on 2 Volkswagon Beetle engines
heat is not provided (anyone that has ever owned one will understand).
Due to no heat the maximum altitude of the aircraft is 5 feet. Overall
it was a great investment; the publicity alone has drawn more attention
than any ad in the newspaper. Think of it, ARIA - Art Rock
International Airlines. A new service, live concert on your way to
Hawaii, DC, New York, LA, Paris, you name it. Any flight less than two
hours would show taped concert footage.
The previous paragraph was done in humor, the names were not changed for
there was nothing actually purchased and no guilty party other than the
person writing this email. Allen has not purchased nor, as far as I
know, plans to purchase any aircraft (with or without VW Beetle
engines). Do not ask Allen where the plane is for there is no plane, you
want a plane, go ask Tattoo where the plane is. This was done strictly
for humor purposes. If taken seriously please consult your doctor
immediately.
(Insert laugh track here)
Hope you all got a laugh out of it.

It was a learning experience, and of course road trips are a great
excuse to sample some delicious beef jerky en route. As a bonus we will
be appearing in the next "Prog Gone Wild" video series. (That should
cure anyone's hiccups... ;-) Little Atlas played well, and we did a new
cover song. Unfortunately John had to help the "sound boy" patch up
some ridiculous pa problems so we didn't start til 1 AM, and I was
plagued with a neon-light-induced ground loop buzzing the whole time.
Yes, we rented an Armada van, since our Lear Jet is still being
repaired. I guess we can say we're a national act now, hmm.

thanks for answering Hal! I think I can speak for everyone saying we are
glad you did! :-)
I'm glad ya'll got to enjoy the beach...I got burnt REALLY bad when I
was there a week before ya'll! I wonder if that was the same drunk
inebriated chick that was at the LA gig I was at the week before? lol
Oh well.
Glad it went ok....did ya'll rent a van to go down? I'm riding to
RoSfest with a friend from the Miami area and he's bringing some of
Little Atlas's instruments...I hope there's room for us in his car, John
Christopher is riding with us also...should be fun! I love long rides!
I took Greyhound down when I went with my 3 yr. old..she did way better
than I thought! Then was driven home by a friend...I usually drive it
alone, thats more fun! I get to listen to WHATEVER I want then! LOL
Glad ya'll had a good time...I heard it wasn't a big crowd, but that
happens everywhere I guess. I hope that some of the other bands here
will try the same thing...even if ya'll don't make much money, I think
its good to get your music out in other places! :-)
PEACE
Beth
