[atlantaprog] Last week's Dec ARIA showcase

Just a word or two about last weeks gig at CJ's.

First off, thanks a million to all of you that
attended.  Nice to see that 'art' rock is alive and
well in Atlanta, even on a weeknight during the
holidays! Good turnout considering the day and all,
thanks to all of you!

Second, a big thank you to Z-Axis for asking us to
open the show.  They had the best set I have yet to
see from them- it was very enjoyable.  They gave out
some party favors to get the X-mas vibe rolling, which
even included these odd little whistles (at least that
is what my favor was) that were somehow in the same
key as some of the music.  Did you try them out ahead
of time Allen or is this just random chance?

By now playing a cover tune at this monthly ARIA
showcase is becoming a tradition.  Z-Axis did a
wonderful version of the Beatles "Tomorrow Never
Knows", and did it in a way that recalled early solo
Gabriel! Very nice twist, not sure  that was the goal,
but that is how it sounded to my ears at least.  

Noise's set turned out well.  It was kinda odd
sounding on stage, but monitor mixes (thankfully) can
be deceptive.  After reviewing the tape of the set
later it sounded as if it was mixed fine for the
audience.  It was an enjoyable set to play for you
folks and I hope we helped spead a little X-mas cheer
as well.  I'd be interested in any comments about the
set if any of you attended care to chime in.

PS- Look for us live in late Jan/early Feb next.  It
will be the debut of Noise as a QUARTET with our full
time keyboardist.  Yet another layer of our sound will
be revealed that night, more info as it develops.
