I have had exactly one good concert experience at Chastain, which was Yes
last October. It rained just enough to keep the "never heard of the band but
I'm here to be seen anyway Buckhead element" away. Also, the show was on a
Friday night, so they were probably a bit looser with the noise restrictions
than usual. Around November or December I read that the Atlanta city council
had voted to impose even tighter noise restrictions on Chastain than before.
Both Alex Cooley and Peter Conlon were quoted in the article as saying that
these restrictions would, effectively, kill live music at that venue, but
there was no way to prove it other than to book shows there and let everybody
see/hear how dreadful things turn out with the lower sound levels in place.
  No thanks...Peter Gabriel or no.

The only hope is that there is such high ticket demand for Gabriel that they
move the show to Hi Fi Buys. This actually happened a couple of years ago
when Roger Waters came to town. The show was initially scheduled for
Chastain,. but moved to Lakewood due to ticket demand and also the production
  needs of Waters' stage show.
