[atlantaprog] KC, Tunnels, etc.

Hi all,

Due to a late door opening and a slow moving line (because virtually
everyone was being frisked - for cameras perhaps?!?) I was able to
give an ARIA flyer to almost single person at the Crimson show
(except for those folks who thought I was handing our religious
literature!). I printed 900 flyers ($40), and gave out almost every
one of them - except for a couple of small stacks I left with one or
two other folks to give out. Made me LATE for the show though! I
ended up at the end of the line, which was still snaking back to the
parking lot when the band started - you'd think they would have
waited 'til everyone was in before they started! Oh well, it should
be worth it. We've already got a couple of new list members from last
night, and I expect we'll have quite a few more folks joining us
soon. I expect that this list will be more and more about shows and
bands and such, and ARIA "business" - such as it is - will be handled
by a few interested folks more-or-less privately. Now we need to get
the web site happening!

Speaking of KC, what a great show! I've seen 'em three time and this
was by far the best. They seemed very at-ease with the material, and
the improv sections were stellar. Even Fripp broke character a few
times and let us glimpse a light-hearted side to him he seldom
reveals (heck, he even skipped across the stage waving both hands in
the air for the second encore! And did I see him make a naughty
gesture to Belew when Ade introduced him as "Mr. Spider FIngers"
before a particularly brisk solo? Perhaps it was my imagination!). Oh
yeah, the light show was the best I have seen in a long time. It
looked like their lighting designer was as tight with the music as
the band was.

After the show, I wandered over to Eyedrum for Tunnels, the Percy
Jones project. Amazing players, especially the MIDI - Kat guy. And
great to see them in such an intimate setting.

How did the eXtreem show go?
