[atlantaprog] Inman Park festival?

Thinking outside the box here - how many of you bands out there would like to go in with me for an ARIA booth at the Inman Park fest? In case you don't know, this is by far the biggest neighborhood fest in Atlanta. It's on the last weekend in April. Go to www.inmanpark.org for more info. A dozen or more blocks are closed off on several streets near L5P and tens of thousands of people come and hang out and visit the artist booths. There is a wild parade (we're thinking of having a Z-Axis float in the parade!), arts, kids stuff, food and live music - which is pretty competitive - little chance for one of us to get picked. My idea is to have a table set up with an ARIA logo and logos for the participating bands. We would have a boom box set up playing our tunes and participating bands would sell CDs. My thinking is this - a lot of people who would like our music don't go out very much. This would be a way of taking our music to them. It would be a way to reach folks who otherwise would never hear about us. We would all take shifts staffing the booth so no one would have to give up the whole weekend.

A booth costs $150. Split between, say, 4 bands, that's pretty affordable. Anybody game for this? We have 'til April 2, but they say the booths fill up quickly so if we're going to do this, we'll need to act soon. I don't know if they will approve us since they have a rule about no amplified music in the booths - but I've seen blues guys with Pignoses there before, so I don't think they're too strict. They do have buskers at various places throughout the fest, in addition to the stage bands.

BTW I have a canopy for the booth.
