[atlantaprog] Idea for Future ProgDay presence for ARIA

Would it be more cost effective to have 1 representative carry Atlanta band
merchandise to a vendor table at an event like this.
It may be an accounting nightmare. But other than that drawback, it has many
advantages. Multiple bands get to share the costs (in $ and in time/labor)
involved in being represented. Only 1 band would need to attend the event and
man the table for all of the participating ARIA bands to have their merchandise
represented.
If enough bands wanted to participate, perhaps the person willing to make the
trip and man the table can get their part of the fee "waived".
Many people attend these events for the live music and the fan fellowship...
But a *lot* of CD buying goes on at ProgDay every year. A lot! It is a great
chance for exposure and name recognition within the Prog target market.
I hope you don't mind me participating in local topics here, but we really
don't have anything like this in Dallas... so this is the closest group I
have...
Can I just be a 'long distance' ARIA member? ;-)

I'll contact Progressions Magazine about writing a review of RogueFest.
I'm already working on a story from Prog Day.
Looks like it's time to regain my typing chops.
By the way, there was ZERO visibility of Atlanta bands at Prog Day in
Chapel Hill, NC this year. I checked around all the vendor tables, and
nobody had any Atlanta prog band CDs to sell. I also did not see any
product by any other band that played at RogueFest.
Jeff Blanks and I talked up ARIA and the Atlanta scene whenever mention
of our home town came up. There is some interest, so next year, see if
you can represent your band, or at least get some CDs in the hands of
Prog Day retailers.
