Ya know,

I respect hip hop and recognize that it has artistic validity and all that.  
However, honesty compels to report that I simply derive very little in the way 
of asthetic pleasure from even the most universally acclaimed and lauded hip 
hop releases.  I kinda liked the Andre disc of the last OutKast album that 
sounded like old Prince mixed with Parliament, but the Big Boi disc, which 
featured straight ahead rapping didn't do too much for me.  It's just not my 
thing, 
but I certainly don't have a problem with it being somebody else's thing.  I'm 
sure people are absolutely mortified by some of the stuff to which I listen.
