[atlantaprog] Re: Greetings, fellow prog'ers

Hi Eric,

Welcome! So far the ARIA list has 52 members, many of whom are
musicians. Many of whom also forward these things to their friends
and band-mates, so it's safe to say the average ARIA emailing reaches
70-80 people, all of whom are fans of progressive music in its many
incarnations.

I know there are more than a few keyboard players on the list (incl.
me)... I'll be happy to talk shop sometime! Drop me a note sometime.

The main activities of ARIA are 1. this email list, and 2. monthly
meetings (though it looks like we'll be scuttling the May meeting -
I'll explain in another email). We are also building a web site that
will contain progressive resources (http://gnosisarts.org/aria) such
as links and calendar listings. Expect to see it evolve significantly
over the month of May.

Members of ARIA are involved in a number of prog-related ventures, including...

* The upcoming roguefest (http://roguemusicfest.com/) featuring about
a dozen regional prog or semi prog acts

* An unofficial roguefest "pre-show"

* A regional prog compilation CD "Paths Less Travelled" that will be
distributed free in the next issue of Progression magazine

* Possibly the best prog discussion board out there,
http://www.progressiveears.com

* An excellent internet-based prog radio station, http://www.theprogpalace.com

So there you have it. See you around sometime!

Allen Welty-Green, the founder of ARIA
