[atlantaprog] Fwd: gnosis: rushinr@bellsouth.net post needs approval

Hi,

Got this from Rob Rushin. He's our local Guitar Craft duo and a master of loopy guitar playing. He's opened for Z-Axis a time or two. I've heard very good things about this group and about Jeff Crompton's sax playing, so I would highly recommend that ya'll check out this show.

Hi friends -

Passing along this news about an upcoming gig.

On Thursday February 10, Jeff Crompton and I are playing at Eyedrum on MLK
Drive in Atlanta (see www.eyedrum.org <http://www.eyedrum.org/> for
directions). We will play at 8 p.m. for about 40 minutes, opening for the
Claudia Quintet, who are visiting from New York. It would be great to see
you there, we have a really cool set of music. Here's our current promo
blurb...

Chamber-fusion duo RoboCromp (Jeff Crompton sax and keys, Rob Rushin
guitars) serves a surprising mix of inside and outside playing delivered by
two guys developing a common vocabulary derived from distinctly different
approaches and traditions. RoboCromp whispers, roars, struts and slides
their way through strange originals and prismatic interpretations of
lesser-known masterpieces by the likes of Monk, Steve Lacy, Cecil Taylor,
Ornette, Benny Goodman, Albert Ayler and Robert Fripp.

So please come join us, and pass this info along to anyone you know who is
up for an evening of good live music.

Best wishes,

rob rushin
