I saw these folks at eyedrum last year with just a handful of folks--which was a shame 'cause they're really good and interesting (not harsh and arresting, nothing wrong with that you know we like that over here, but not that), have sort of a tribal world music feel sometime, sometimes not, sometimes gorgeous melodies, sometimes rhythmic...kinda hard to describe. here's their blurb. just go ahead and record LOST and INVASION, yr favorite shows, and come on out. I have a secret I want to tell you when you get here.

Music from the Belly of the Cosmos
Music event
9:00pm
$7
Cerberus Shoal will be visiting Atlanta on their US tour in support of their latest effort 'The Land We All Believe In' on North East Indie.  A sometimes political, sometimes humorous, sometimes spiritual amalgam of skewed pop, the seven offerings on "The Land" catapult the listeners through every shade of possible emotion within the environment of our present global situation, while still appeasing the melodic and rhythmic desire of their ears. Within the framework of a pleasant abstraction, the message never obscures the vibrant array of music offered the listener on this record. Imagine The Pixies and John Lennon being asked to do a soundtrack composed and conducted by Sonic Youth and Robert Smith (circa 1984) for a movie about William S. Burroughs directed by David Lynch and Jim Jarmusch written by Fredy Perlman’s ghost as channeled by Franz Kafka’s inner-child.  Â

Music from the Belly of the Cosmos is a happening whose nature is capturing the present moment in blissful awareness with the intensesense of flow and response. Comprised of Jeffrey Lerner (zen painter/sound architect), David McClung(THESOULRAYDIO), and experimentalist Ryan Gregory, this collective channels organic ambience that ranges from space drone meditation, moon-age trance and other percussive dizzying atmospherics which point the listener towards the euphoria of the solar heart! Bemused Picture a timeless pastoral psychedelia laced with a beatnik hindu-farm-vibe and you're getting warmer....This happening attracts those who dare to sway in the haze. So put on your dancing shoes and let go of the YOU in you! WE ARE ALL SOUND + OUTERSPACE IS GOD!!! Â
