[atlantaprog] Re: Fwd: [ARTNEWS] eyedrum improv at the Contemporary this Friday

Hi Iam new to this list serve. I live in Columbia Sc and Have to say this looks
like a fun event. Can you tell me more about it. How do you become a performer?
What types of music a played? Is it Improv or do the performers rehearse for
it. I play upright bass and electric bass. I ahve a masters in upright and I am
always looking for cool places to play. Is it every Friday? Or at least on a
regular basis. Do you have to sign up in advance or do performers just show up?

yes, friday at the Contemporary
not thursday at eyedrum

many of you have seen the announcements for this but I'm making a
pitiful plea to the performers this time to please show up for this.
There is a core of you who come on a semi-regular and others who are
probably clueless (e.g. myself) but who would like to participate.

If you don't know where the Contemporary is go to
http://www.thecontemporary.org --it's down marietta street past CNN
center, left on means st at the Engineer's Bookstore

Format will be the same as usual: solos, duos, or trios for the first
hour or so, (duration 5 minutes please), expanded sets thereafter, then
concluding with a conduction...theme is 'All Mixed Up'.

Here's the pitiful shameless bribe part: first 14 performers to show
up get a free copy of the new conduction compilation, GETTING FREE.
(see either below or attachment)

same glorious hoo ha as always.

starts at 9 by the latest, if yr stage bound, please try to get there
by 8:30 at the latest (though I know that many can only come later).

see you there..
...and make sure you've taken your meds
