OK,
I'm not quite sure what to make of Fripp's Performance the other night. He started spot-on at 8:30pm, played a 32 minute soundscape. Stopped, chatted with the audience Q&A style for about 25 minutes, took a 5-6 minute intermission, returned, and did another 30 minute soundscape (that sounded awefully similar to the first one) then quitely put his guitar down and left the stage while his last soundscape sloooooooooooowly faded out.
I saw a few of you guys there. What did you make of it. I kind of felt
short-changed by the whole event.......Harold
I thought the the second part of the first soundscape set (roughly
minutes 10 through 30) was really remarkable, and enjoyed it a great
deal. The Q&A was entertaining (how often do you get to hear Robert
talk about his, um, tackle?) but none of it was all that deep. The
second set of soundscapes didn't do as much for me, and I agree that the
last part sounded quite a lot like the first. Overall, I'm satisfied.
