Everyone's mentioned the low volume and several people have mentioned the
disinterested audience. I've seen about 20 concerts there. Some have been
really good, some have been painful. At one show the person sitting next to
me complained the whole night about how the person next to them at the LAST
show had talked through the whole show. So I got to sit next to a person
who was annoying AND stupid. It does blow my mind at how loud the audience
is compared to the band at many of the shows. I saw John Denver there...I
didn't hear a note, but I SAW him. It was like they didn't even have the PA
on and he was just sitting up there strumming his acoustic guitar and
whispering. However, The ELO and Duran Duran shows were actually pretty
loud and I didn't hear anyone at all talking at the Indigo Girls show. The
wine (whine?) and cheese factor is often pretty heavy...but I will say this,
where else will you see Jethro Tull stop a show so that Ian can say, "I'm
sorry, am I interrupting your dinner by playing music up here?"
