From my Finnish friend Otso Pakarinen (ozoneplayer.com):
Kimmo Pohjonen is also a big favorite of mine.
Mind you, reading again my hasty response, I meant that I could be a good place
to start asking questions if anyone is serioously interested in Finnish prog.
(Although, my next album will be probably proggy enough to qualify as prog...)
Anyway, Discordia's "Utopia Perfection" is an excellent example of recent
Finnish prog at its best.
And we (Colossus) are currently in the making of "Tuonen Tytär 2", a triple-CD
tribute to (70's) Finnish prog. I'm doing a cover of a piece by Finnforest and
so is Bill Fox's band Pinnacle. <http://www.myspace.com/colossusprojects>
A majority of participating bands on the various projects are outside of
Finland, though.
Other current FInnish prog bands of note:
Alamaailman Vasarat
Fäänä
Subspace Radio
Ageness
Tainatar
Scarlet Thread
Circusfolk
Kumina.org
Jeavestone
The Phase
