[atlantaprog] FYI: Some Prog Rock Bass Players in the Spotlight (sort of)

Mainly for the prog bass players on this list, but
this may interest all of you...

Guitar World Magazine's sister publication Bass Guitar
has an extensive write up on prog bass playing and
players in the current issue.

Please ignore the fact that Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue
is on the cover...unless you think he also happens to
be prog!  ;-)

Feature Articles include:

* Chris Squire of Yes

* Trey Gunn (still with King Crimson at the time the
article was written)...includes a King Crimson bass
players alumni retrospective, covering Boz Burrell,
Greg Lake, John Wetton and Tony Levin.

* John Myung of Dream Theater, including an in-depth
"private lesson". ;-)

* Geddy Lee and Rush

Main "lame" moment is the bass transcriptions near the
back...once again, "Roundabout" is selected. Why not
"The Revealing Science of God" or "The Gates of
Delerium", I ask?  ;-)

One place I know you should be able to find a copy is
at Barnes & Noble bookstore (that is where it caught
my eye).

Regards,

Bill

trusted." --William Shakespeare
