With all of the hype about making episode 100 it was tough to decide just
what would be an appropriate celebration of such an achievment. I decided
to put together a list of song favorites but as I was putting them together,
I began to notice an emerging theme or story if you will. This was an idea
long in the making for Soundscape, and something that I have been toying
with trying out for a long time. With my recent discoveries of both Jim
Ladd's Headsets and Ghost Circus's Across the Line, my enthusiasm for
telling a story was even more engaged. So here for the first time is a
musical pastiche wrapped around a story. Hopefully the music takes you on
the journey itself, but perhaps the narrative I offer will help you along
the way offering some handholds in what could easily be a sea of Chaos (No
offense Simon). If anything, the story serves to tie a lot of great music
together and achieves the ultimate idea behind my show, to create a
landscape of sounds. The story should be up by this morning for your
downloading pleasure at www.thedividingline.com/ss
Next week we return to the 1970's for another dose of progressive history
and we take our first listen to the new Caamora album "She".
