Well I know some of ya'll will say I'm a heretic, but I'm crazy about
the things Gabriel did with drums on 3 & 4... the
no-cymbals-process-the-hell-out-of-them sounds were so radical at the
time, that everyone out there with pretentions of artsiness imitated
him. And I like the way he didn't try and make his Linndrum sound like
real drums, but rather use it as an instrument in its own right... and
the gritty Fairlight timbres - excellent stuff.
On So he dropped the ball and his drums sounded like everyone else.
