[atlantaprog] Re: Concert for George

I saw it too (concert for George) I really liked it as well. It wasn't just a
bunch of musicians who knew nothing about the man. They actually managed to
show how diverse George really was. I really liked the indian music and thought
monty pithon was a nice touch. It was sort of spookie watching his son play. At
times he looked just like his old man.

sentiments on the Concert for George DVD, besides the great music in suich huge
quantity, the fact that this gigantic assemblage of musicians really stayed
tight and never lapsed into a mess is in itself a marvel. Definitely a must see!

of it during production and it will engage you. Plus there are two drummers I
know featured on a track each. ;-) Dust Remembers, Ghost of a Train and
Requiem for an Engineer are good to start with.

Also, has anyone else seen the George Harrison tribute dvd that came out a
couple years ago? Harrison was one of my favorite all-round musicians but I'd
not watched this til now because I'm not usually a fan of the crowded stage
all-star concerts. But the performances on this one are incredible, and
there's a 20-minute Indian orchestral piece at the beginning by Ravi Shankar
and his daughter Anushka that is fantastic. Eric Clapton and Billy Preston on
'Isn't It A Pity' alone is worth a look. www.concertforgeorge.com
