I agree with Wheat in principal, but the reality is more like what
Chris describes. It probably wouldn't be unreasonable to up it to $7 or
something like that, but the main goal right now is to get people IN
THE ROOM!!! Z-Axis has never made any significant $ at our shows, and
we don't really expect to... It would be nice, but seriously a paltry
$50 per band is rather insignificant in the grand scheme of things. I'd
rather have fifty new audience members!
That being said, if this thing continues to grow, I could see upping it
to $10 at some point. Or better yet, CJ's could pick up the tab for the
staff (which right now, takes the first $100 off of the top) and ALL of
the gate could go to the bands!
Another thing to consider - we will most likely have regional bands
coming to play at these things at some point. We certainly won't be
able to guarantee them anything, so it would be nice to be able to help
them at least meet their expenses (BTW how many of you would be willing
to open your homes to visiting musicians to spare them the cost of a
hotel? I would!)
